ASIANS IN MUSIC SANDBOX SHOWCASE
Dear Diary,
What a wild ride it’s been working on Lament! Getting selected for the Asians in Music (AIM) Development Program felt like unlocking a secret level. We’d been sitting on this song for ages, knowing it had potential but feeling stuck—like we were missing a key ingredient.
Enter our amazing mentor, Mareea Paterson. She’s a total legend and worked with artists like Tim Finn and Bic Runga. Mareea didn’t just polish Lament—she helped us find its heart. She pushed us to dig deeper and be as honest and raw as possible.
We had our full-day studio session with Mareea and a recording engineer, shaping the track into something that felt more “us” than ever. It was a blur of late-night riffs, last-minute lyric changes, and those perfect moments when everything just clicks.
Mixing and mastering took it to a whole new level, and after some game-changing PR mentoring, Lament is almost ready to make its debut.
This whole process has been incredible. We’ve leveled up, and we’re one step closer to sharing our story with the world!
Much Love,
Club Ruby
